You’ve probably heard the term “work out buddy” — and you might know that there’s a TON of research out there that demonstrates why working out a partner can yield better results like:
- Being more likely to stick with a program
- Feeling less stressed
- Busting out of ruts or plateaus
- Pushing yourself harder
Now that might sound awesome in theory.
But if you’re like me — busy as hell with life already — the idea of trying to coordinate with yet another person’s schedule probably sounds like the exact opposite of a good idea.
Agh. Wow, I just completely talked myself out of that. No thanks. I mean, I can barely schedule a together with my girlfriends for wine nights — and I actually LIKE doing that!
The Snarky Fit Project’s Buddy Alternative
Our alternative to the gym buddy are challenge groups. These private facebook communities are made up of like-minded, busy people who are committed to the journey of getting healthy by setting active goals, tackling nutrition and perhaps most importantly, telling their inner critic to “Can it, sister!”.
Of course, challenge groups are not unique to The Snarky Fit Project. However, what does makes our challenge groups unique is that we steer really clear of any syrupy sweet rah-rah bullshit that paints every step of the journey as “Oh-em-gee amazeballs.”
Some days are going to kick your ass before you ever even get to think about working out or eating healthy. That’s just life and our Snarky Community totally gets that. That’s why our focus is to tackle those inner thoughts — so when those knock-out sucker punch days happen, you’re not completely derailed. And you can show up for yourself the next day.

The Do 1 Thing Challenge
The Do 1 Thing Challenge group is an ideal group for people who are just starting out on their health-focussed journeys or for people who are so busy that the idea of a full program is just too much to tackle. Believe me, I’ve been there. And this concept is what ignited my own passion for health in body, mind and heart.
In this community you will be able to check in with each other, share recipes, brainstorm how to tackle challenges and plateaus. You’ll get lifetime access meaning that even as you grow, expand or change your goals, you’ll have a supportive and familiar community to rely on.
Program Specific Challenge Groups
Throughout the year, I will promote and host challenge groups that focus on a specific program or habit. In these groups, everyone in the group is committed to the same workout program from start to finish. We use daily check-ins, discussions and mini-challenges to keep everyone motivated and accountable. Not to mention, because everyone is going through the program together, it’s a great opportunity to brainstorm and problem-solve around life’s many curveballs.
